ECO in the Community
We have a social and environmental responsibility
Employee Giving & Volunteering
As a champion and leader for environmental workforce growth in Canada, we recognize and value the importance of minimizing our environmental impact and giving back to our community.
Contributing to the place we live and work is important to us. We do this by volunteering, supporting other non-profits and donations.
Everyone who works here is given 8 hours of paid volunteer time per year to the charitable organization of their choice.
As an organization we also support a number of local charities and/or community activities including:
Improving Our Corporate Sustainability
We spend a lot of time in our working environment and it is our goal to be as eco-friendly as possible.
ECO Canada operates out of a BOMA BEST certified office building.
As well, the following features of our working space include:
- Energy efficiency in the office
- Composting
- Reusable supplies
- Energy star equipment
ENHANCING THE WORKFORCE
Environmental Skill Building Support Program
Our Skill Building Program is for non-profits and eligible individuals who could use some help developing technical and soft skills in order work successfully in the environmental sector.
This program provides complimentary access to:
- Essential Skills e-learning packages covering fundamental business and soft skills
- Over 60 on-demand webinars covering a range of topics
- Course: Managing Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy Projects
- Course: Essential Skills for Job Seekers
Every three months we select two individuals and one organization a custom mix of the above training options based on the following criteria:
- Individuals must be unemployed and needing financial assistance
- Organizations must be a registered non-profit or charity
