Blue Economy

The Blue Economy fosters sustainable use of ocean resources, supporting economic growth while protecting marine ecosystems. It focuses on sectors like fisheries, renewable energy, and coastal tourism, benefiting communities and industries. ECO Canada promotes initiatives that advance the blue economy by providing resources and opportunities for professionals to drive sustainable development.

Zero-Emission Vehicle Awareness Initiative

The Zero-Emission Vehicle Awareness Initiative (ZEVAI) educates and empowers communities to adopt Zero-Emission Medium and Heavy-Duty Vehicles. It aims to boost awareness and remove barriers in sustainable transportation, targeting farming, rural, remote, Indigenous communities, small businesses, and transportation companies across Canada.

Project IGNITE

Project IGNITE: Innovating GHG-Reduction, Nurturing Institutions, and Training Enterprises for Low Carbon Economy. This project aims to facilitate Low-Carbon Technology Adoption and Workforce Development for GHG Emissions Reduction. It focuses on overcoming barriers to adoption, addressing the talent gap, and expanding networks for effective initiatives.

Sharing Knowledge and Building Networks

This project aims to empower businesses and communities across Canada to adopt low-carbon technologies and reduce their greenhouse gas emissions, with support from the Government of Canada’s Implementation Readiness Fund. By providing funding and support, ECO Canada will help increase the readiness to deploy greenhouse gas emissions reduction projects and remove barriers to low-carbon adoption.

Work-Integrated Learning: A Net Zero Talent Pipeline

Canada will need over 40,000 skilled environmental workers entering the green workforce every year for the next decade. To bridge this gap and empower young Canadians to pursue meaningful work, this project offers innovative work integrated learning (iWIL) opportunities that equip students with practical net-zero skills and fosters industry collaboration so we can build a future generation of environmental leaders..

Accessibility and Inclusion in the Environmental Sector

The Canadian Association for Supported Employment is a national association of community-based service providers and stakeholders working towards employment inclusion of persons experiencing disability. They strive to promote full citizenship and personal capacity through the facilitation of increased labour market participation. Through workforce participation, CASE also promotes social inclusion for Canadians who experience disability.

Codes Acceleration Program for Indigenous Communities

The Codes Acceleration Program for Indigenous Communities trains and supports Indigenous communities in adopting high energy performance building codes.

Part of Canada’s Green Buildings Strategy aims to decarbonize the building sector by funding actions that promote these energy-efficient standards.

Women Reclaiming Leadership Toolkit

The Women Reclaiming Leadership Toolkit aims to provide valuable resources and support for fostering greater diversity and inclusivity within environmental workplaces.Through practical tools, guidance, and inspiration, this toolkit empowers women to assume leadership roles and catalyze meaningful change in the industry. By doing so, it contributes to a more equitable and sustainable future.

The Government of Canada's Skills for Success Program aims to enhance job seekers' foundational skills in environmental sectors and increase the number and qualified workers.

The project addresses skills and labour market challenges, collaborates to enhance job seekers' employability, and promotes inclusive talent strategies.
